How much does a New Concrete Driveway Cost?
There are a few variables to consider for each home such as excavation costs and concrete removal for old driveways, for an accurate quote a site inspection will be required. Typical prices for driveway and path construction for areas over 40 square metres:
Plain Concrete – $100 – $125 per SQM
- Coloured Concrete – $5-10 per SQM
Exposed Aggregate – $160-$180 per SQM
Stamped Concrete – $160 – $180 per SQM
Paving – $120 – $200 per SQM
Rubber Stone – $200+ per SQM
Concrete Resurfacing
- Pressure Washing and Crack Repair – $1000-$2000
- Coloured Resurfacing $50-70 per SQM
- Spray on Stencil $70 per SQM
Example: 60m2 Concrete Driveway
Example: 60m2 driveway with cracked concrete to be demolished and removed, excavation, installation of sub base and new grey concrete installed with groomed or swirl finish:
Excavation, tip fees, site preparation: $2000-3000
Installation of concrete with 8mm steel reinforcement: $7200
Total price of 60m2 driveway $9200 – $10,200

Before constructing a new driveway in Canberra it is important to comply with ACT regulations. We have constructed 100’s of driveways in the ACT and surrounds and can help with the approval process to ensure a simple stress free construction of your new driveway.
General Rule – The verge part of the driveway is owned by the government and must stay the same shape as existing driveway or a new driveway design plan must be approved. Photos showing the sub base and Steel in place must be taken before Concrete is poured for all driveways and submitted for approval.
ACT Government do not reimburse for any expenses for us replacing the verge. ACT Government will only replace your Verge if it is dangerous or inaccessible due to uplifting or dropping of concrete causing trip hazards or problems accessing property via car.
